OUR TEAMGlenn Chu – Executive ChefA local boy from Hawaii, with roots in a traditional Chinese family, Glenn Chu’s earliest memories were of his Chinese grandmother who grew her own vegetables in her Manoa garden, and cooked meals for the family in her giant wok on a wood-burning stove. Over the years, Chu has expanded and sharpened his culinary skills in both Asian and Western cuisines. Greek and Italian cooking were major influences – all part of his experience in Detroit as a college student, and then as Logistics Coordinator for Convention Services for the City of Detroit. Indigo is the fulfillment of Chef Glenn’s longtime dream – to open a restaurant that would be the distillation of all his experiences of Eastern and Western cuisines and interpreted through the principles of balance and harmony in traditional cooking. Indigo has received world recognition with Chef Glenn Chu’s appearances on both local and national cooking programs, and through national gourmet publications including Bon Appetit, Gourmet Magazine and Conde Nast. |
